PREREQUISITES:
Front End design problem solving
A portfolio demonstrating the following is required:
o Good graphic design core competencies
o Ability to present complex information in a consistent, understandable
fashion
o Basic drawing skills
o Good use of line and light
o Breadth of artistic styles
o Ability to work within a style including a style set by another
artist/art director/ Brand Identity
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors in Graphic Design, Industrial Design, Instructional Design or
Ergonomics OR has worked on at least two interactive titles
Demonstrates consistent ability to work within a layout system
UNDERSTANDING:
Demonstrates a good understanding of
o Typography and Layout (specifically Grid systems)
o Composition
o Color
o Vector and Raster Image Creation tools and appropriate use of both
o A layout package (i.e. Quark Xpress or EA FE layout tools)
o Interactive navigational flow and controls
Demonstrates basic understanding of:
o Interface/menu systems assembly and vector based scripting techniques
o HTML
o Key principles of human interface design/ergonomics; importance of
consistency in design
o Navigation trees/flow charts
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assists Senior Interface Design Staff or Art Direction Staff in
creation/development of materials that are consistent with project and
brand style guides: icon designs, menus, on screen displays (?OSD?s?)
As directed, builds components of a title?s menus and on-screen displays
in a manner consistent with the project style guide and any appropriate
Brand Identity style guide
Documents UI flow of a product, includes producing of flow diagrams/charts
Uses appropriate tools (as determined by Senior team staff) to build
assets in such a way that it is easily integrated with appropriate game code
