Angeles and San Francisco has become a leading force in high-end visual
effects and animation services, motion picture and broadcast production, and
filmmaking technology development and licensing. 

In its brief history, The Orphanage has become internationally recognized
for visual effects innovation and celebrated for elevating filmmaking
technology.

 

We are working for a Look Dev Technical Director in our San Francisco
office:

 

Duties:

- Work with pre-production team to develop the desired look of textures,
lighting and shading 

- Work closely with the CG supervisor to develop and maintain the look dev
pipeline

 

Qualifications:

- Excellent understanding of the 3D computer graphics pipeline

- Knowledge of UV layout, texture projections, and 2D texture painting in UV
layouts

- Thorough understanding of composition, physical motion, and texture

- Strong understanding of traditional animation principles

- Strong understanding of lighting skills within a variety of lighting
environments

- Proficiency in Maya and Photoshop, with substantial experience in other 3D
applications (Max, Zbrush, etc.)

- Basic knowledge of UNIX, ability to troubleshoot technical problems and a
familiarity with scripting 

- Attention to detail, coupled with the ability to learn quickly and
assimilate new information

- Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills

- Able to take direction positively, work well within a team, and thrive
under the pressure of tight deadlines
