FX Technical Director 

Few entertainment companies embrace the future of filmmaking more

veterans of George Lucas' Industrial Light + Magic, the company based in Los
Angeles and San Francisco has become a leading force in high-end visual
effects and animation services, motion picture and broadcast production, and
filmmaking technology development and licensing. 

In its brief history, The Orphanage has become internationally recognized
for visual effects innovation and celebrated for elevating filmmaking
technology. 

We are currently looking for a FX Technical Director in our San Francisco
office. 

Duties: 
- Create photo realistic moving images using Houdini, Maya, and other 2D and
3D software 

Qualifications: 
- Experience in film or gaming production, helping to develop the look of a
scene 
- Thorough knowledge of both 2D and 3D computer graphics techniques 
- Thorough understanding of the CG pipeline 
- Scripting and shading experience desired 
- Compositing experience a plus 
- UNIX operating system experience a plus 
- Ability to take direction positively, work well within a team, and thrive
under the pressure of tight deadlines
