Modeling Supervisor 

Few entertainment companies embrace the future of filmmaking more

veterans of George Lucas' Industrial Light + Magic, the company based in Los
Angeles and San Francisco has become a leading force in high-end visual
effects and animation services, motion picture and broadcast production, and
filmmaking technology development and licensing. 

In its brief history, The Orphanage has become internationally recognized
for visual effects innovation and celebrated for elevating filmmaking
technology. 

We are currently looking for a Modeling Supervisor in our San Francisco
office. 

Duties 
--Oversee project modelers in the construction and maintenance of geometry
for computer generated hard surface and creature models 
--Work with creative and technical supervisors and producers to develop the
imagery required on each project 
--Work with the modelers to make sure each model is designed and developed
to project specifications and is performance ready 

Qualifications 
--History of proactively mentoring and growing a modeling staff 
--Solid understand of 3D computer graphics, theory and practice 
--Thorough grasp of composition, physical motion, weight, balance, texture
and form 
--Experienced with Maya, knowledge of 3D Studio Max, Houdini and Zbrush
helpful 
--Feature film experience strongly preferred 
--Skill in drawing and sketching desirable 
--Proactive problem solver who demonstrates a strong sense of creativity and
respect for aesthetics. 
--Comfortable with diplomacy
