Computer Graphics Supervisor 

Few entertainment companies embrace the future of filmmaking more

veterans of George Lucas' Industrial Light + Magic, the company based in Los
Angeles and San Francisco has become a leading force in high-end visual
effects and animation services, motion picture and broadcast production, and
filmmaking technology development and licensing. 

In its brief history, The Orphanage has become internationally recognized
for visual effects innovation and celebrated for elevating filmmaking
technology. 

We are currently looking for a Computer Graphics Supervisor in our San
Francisco office. 

Duties:
- Develop, research, and implement new techniques and methodologies into
production pipeline, adding value to VFX produced at The Orphanage 
- Ensure adequate pre-production and testing of new concepts/techniques
prior to production 
- Conduct audits and advise Sr. Production staff of pipeline concerns;
proactively design effective solutions for potential problems 
- Design/develop strong, efficient, and flexible CG pipelines for complex
projects 
- Work within the studio to create innovative graphics strategies; share and
leverage graphics processes, technologies and methodologies 

Qualifications:
- Pro-active problem solver who demonstrates a strong sense of creativity
and respect for aesthetics 
- Command a broad knowledge of technologies including particle systems,
rigging, image manipulation tools, scripting languages, 3D API, and shader
systems 
- Experienced in designing and building a CG pipeline on at least 5 or more
successful films (includes shipping on time) 
- History of proactively mentoring and growing Technical Art staff 
- Ability to work with a variety of both 2D and 3D software packages 
- Scripting abilities 
- Understanding of one or more of the following: Motion Capture,
Hardware/Software Shaders, FX/Particle Simulations 
- Strong understanding of Pre-production 
- Comfortable with diplomacy
