Hi Everyone!

I want to start off by apologizing on the delay on releasing the new site. The last year and a half has been full of 6-7 day weeks of intense production schedules for our day jobs and overall a constant moving of homes.

We have decided to move THESCRATCHPOST content to be in blog format since it is easier to maintain from anywhere in the world and overall there will be no need of having local files that will need to be ftp’d up to the server. (another reason why the site has been unloved for the last year.. since our editor-in-chief has become quite the gypsy and doesn’t always have access to her pc or internet.)

With the new change you will notice a few new faces around the site..we felt that the new site needed a bit of a face lift and hopefully our new illustrator (ahem..Adam) might be able to provide a few more characters from time to time.

Along with the new layout and design.. here are some of the major changes:

Removal of old content

We removed old articles that we felt were either out of date or overall kind of useless. (plus it saved us some time on the actual manual creation of all the posts). We tried to streamline the important articles that we felt were the most popular, and consolidated a few that were repeats into one. If you feel there was an article that you absolutely loved, please let us know and we will try our best to look into the depths of our old database to retrieve it.

Removal of old featured artists

Not because they are not special but because in this industry.. if you don’t have an updated profile every 6 months..you loose touch of what the artist is really up to at the moment. (and no one really enjoys stale bread anyway…). We plan to bring you new faces to meet and also hope to receive updated profiles from our past featured artists that we can add to our new site. Opportunity to keep THESCRATCHPOST alive.

We are now offering the opportunity to advertise on THESCRATCHPOST. The site has been maintained and paid for from our own pockets.. and to be honest, its not really that cheap to pay for over 10 yrs of hosting, maintenance, and domain names. We hope that with the addition of banner advertising the site can maintain itself and also offer opportunity for artists, studios, schools, and event planners to get themselves seen. If you like the site and would like to see it continue, we encourage you to look into either advertising or donating to it’s upkeep.

New emails to contact us.

We were literally getting over 900 spam emails a day. (thanks a lot web spiders.. you ruined everyone’s fun). So we decided to do something drastic and now all of our contact emails are not only different, but they are also images on the pages. Sorry, but you will have to actually type them into your web mail.. no links. We apologize for this pain in the butt solution, but its the only way we could stop the spam and actually be able to attend to your emails in a timely manner.

We are very excited to welcome you all to our new site, we hope to slowly make the site more streamlined and keep it a bit more active with articles that will be featured on a more regular basis. So take a look around and let us know what you think!
