Image Engine is seeking a Lead Modeler to work on Neill Blomkamp and Peter Jackson’s upcoming science fiction film District 9. As a Lead Modeler on this project you will be leading a team creating highly detailed photo realistic character and hard surface models to integrate with live action plates.

Requirements:

• Experience building photorealistic creatures, vehicles, and props in feature films
• High degree of Maya expertise
• Highly efficient UV layout
• Anatomical understanding
• Traditional background
• Upstream & downstream understanding of texturing (UVs), rigging, and cloth simulation
• Keen eye for cloth, drapery, folding fabrics with different materials
• Self-motivated with a strong artistic vision and the ability to guide other artists

Highly Desirable:

Modeling for animation purposes including: facial & body deformation. This includes understanding how topology is built & the line between displacement (Z-Brush) and modeled geometry.
