After a huge buzz and emails of visitors on TSP, we decided to get a bit more in depth information about this amazing solo project. Jason was very generous in sending us not only images of his workspace, but also what was used in creating the film.

Every two years, the employees at Calabash Animation in Chicago, are eligible to submit their original story idea for a short film. The winner gets to develop his or her film idea using the studio, its crew, and facilities.

After hours, Brad has continued to keep himself busy with an ambitious pet project called “Save Virgil,” a short film that combines live-action and animation in the spirit of “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” and “Space Jam.” Though only 15 minutes long, it has been a grueling process that has cost him four surgical operations, three visits to foreign countries, two years of his life, and a partridge in a pear tree.
